An Aussie born, London living, quilt designer, Emma had her first encounter with patchwork at the tender age of 8.
Her mother had bought some lovely polar fleece fabric with dogs on it and wished to make her some PJs. Emma was adamant that the dogs not be cut up and the fabric quickly turned into her ‘doggy blanky’. It did, however, lead to her mother sitting her down at the sewing machine to teach her how a use it and she’s not stopped sewing since!
Emma has found a deep joy and contentment in sewing, unlike her other creative pursuits (she’s been known to appear in a musical or two!). It’s the best combination of creativity and relaxation out there. And even though her friends call her a ‘grandma’, she sleeps well at night knowing that she’s warmer than them in winter!
