Judy Newman

I have memories of fabric, yarn and sewing as far back as I can remember. Shopping with my mother as a child, I was always drawn to
funny little haberdashery shops full of fabric and sewing notions. I was fortunate to discover patchwork
and quilting 25 years ago, when my children were small, and I have been smitten ever since.

It was a natural progression for me to start designing my own quilts and which led to teaching all over Australia and now the world.
It was my greatest joy to have my work published last year with Quiltmania Editions. My book, Quilts for Life Made with Love, is just that,
a philosophy of making quilts for family, friends, to be enjoyed, used and given away.

I would describe my style as modern vintage combined with a love of Liberty fabrics and anything with a rose on it. I am never bored and always happy
with a needle and thread in my hand.
